Aubusson Tapestry : The Great Lady Collection
YMER&MALTA / Lou Malta
2019

Bruno Ythier, Chief Curator at the Cité Internationale de la Tapisserie d’Aubusson
The tapestry becomes a structure. In order to resist the tension provoked by the design of this stool, YMER&MALTA innovated using highly resistant nautical rope for the chain on this tapestry. In parallel, the dynamic design of the hand-sculpted wooden structure reinforces the feeling of tension.
This piece was presented at the Musée des Arts Décoratifs de Paris during Valérie Maltaverne’s Chevalier des Arts et des Lettres Award ceremony.
